If you need a police clearance but are not comfortable lining up at a police station and getting exposed to the virus, you may apply for it online. This cuts your trip by more than half because then, you would only need to go to the PNP for your biometrics and to claim your clearance. The old practice takes, at a minimum, 30 minutes to complete. With the new National Police Clearance System (NPCS), your visit to the PNP will only last about 10 minutes or even less if there are no long lines when you visit.
As with all my other blogs, I hope you find this helpful and worth sharing to your family and friends. TYIA!
How to use the NPCS:
- Log on to https://pnpclearance.ph/ and register or create an account.
- After you have provided all your information (including an active email address), check the Terms and Conditions box and click the Register button.
- Check your email for the confirmation message from the NPCS. Click on the verification link to activate your account. This should take you to the login page.
- Log in to your brand new account and edit your profile as necessary. Fill out the online form with the necessary details and then click on the Save Profile button.
You are now ready to set an appointment! Just click on the Clearance Application button and choose the PNP station nearest you where you can pick up your clearance.
Choose your preferred schedule and the Land Bank of the Philippines button and then save appointment.
The screen will show the payment details and reference number. Take a screenshot of this or make a note for the payment later on.
Next, click on the Landbank button to be taken to the LBP ePayment Portal. You can pay through this platform using your Landbank, GCash, or BancNet account.
The total police clearance fee is Php 160 (Php 150 plus Php 10 transaction fee).
Claiming your Police Clearance: You need to present two valid IDs when claiming your police clearance. Here’s the list of acceptable IDs and documents:
- AFP ID
- BFP ID

- IBP ID
- PCG ID

Also bring your reference number and the official receipt (or screenshot) of your payment.
Your photo, fingerprints, and digital signature will be taken and your application will go through a verification process. After you are cleared, you will be called to receive your police clearance. In case your name gets a hit, your application will be verified again and you will be advised to come back when your clearance is ready.
In case you miss your appointment date, you actually still have 15 more days to appear at your chosen PNP station.
I personally think this is more efficient and safe for us especially now that our country has yet to rise above the threats of the pandemic. So, I truly hope you would choose transacting with government and private firms online while we wait this pandemic out. I’m glad our government is stepping up in terms of providing more online channels for us to use.
Your thoughts are most welcome. Stay safe!
