Your BIR ID is a government-issued ID that is honored by all government offices and private establishments. If you do not have a driver’s license, the BIR ID is the next best thing to show when you are asked for an identification (or your passport, if you bring it with you all the time). The BIR ID is perpetually valid but if it gets dilapidated over time or in case you lose it, you need to have it replaced immediately to avoid delays in your transactions such as filing income tax returns, VAT returns, and the like.
Last week, I shared the process on how to get a Tax Identification Number. Today, I am going to share the process on how to get a replacement TIN Card in case yours get lost or worn out.
How to apply for a new TIN card:
- Secure a copy of BIR Form 1905 (Application for Registration Information Update); you may download this from the BIR website at www.bir.gov.ph.
- Fill out the form, making sure that all entries are accurate and legible. If you are getting a replacement for a Lost BIR TIN Card, you need to secure a duly notarized Affidavit of Loss and attach this to your application. If you are getting a replacement for a dilapidated card, attach the old TIN Card to your application.
- Submit the form, along with the corresponding attachments, to the BIR District Office where your TIN is currently registered.
- Pay the replacement fee of P100 at the cashier; hold on to your receipt.
Some BIR offices are able to release the replacement card on the same day while others process all replacement cards by bulk. If the BIR office where you are getting your replacement card follows the latter, make sure you are given a phone number and a contact person that you can call when you want to make a follow up on the availability of your card. Do not lose the receipt of your payment, you will use that when claiming your card.
When you get your card, attach an ID photo and have it laminated.

It really depends on the establishment or agency that you are transacting with pero ideally, ang mga IDs dapat clear ang lahat ng entries, including the signature (also, is this your friend’s TIN Id or your TIN ID? :))

Kung birth date lang, pwede niyo itong ipa correct sa LCR kung saan naka rehistro yung birth certificate.
Pero kung year of birth ang may discrepancy, kailangan ninyong manghingi ng tulong ng isang abogado para mapa-correct yung maling entry.

Here in Davao City RDO 113 they will.ask you to pay in the back. So you’ll need to prepare Form 0605 and TIN validation slip, which you can get at the BIR office, before you proceed to an accredited bank to pay. You also need to buy a 15-peso documentary stamp.

Kung may TIN ka na dati, hindi ka na dapat kumuha pa ng bago ngayon. Magkakaron lang ng conflict sa mga records mo. Gamitin mo na lang kung ano yung unang na-assign na TIN sa iyo. Kung may kailangan kang ipa-correct na details mo sa BIR, pwede kang mag inquire sa hotline ng BIR na 981-8888.

Any BIR office should be able to provide you with your TIN. Or you may inquire directly at the branch where you were supposedly registered. If they could not find your TIN, it may mean that you were not registered.

Kung pwede pa sanang maalis yung laminat mas maganda para mapirmahan mo muna. Pero kung hindi na mag attach ka na lang lagi ng I.D mo na may pirma mo.

a non resident came back to Manila to sign a guardianship of niece and nephew , whose brother , a single parent, died recently.
This non resident used to have. TAN, tax account number, not a TIN. How can the non resident apply for a TIN? Is this considered a first time applicant or Securing a TIN for a one time transaction? Whatever is the answer, pls advise us of the procedure. Ty
Actually its the same as for at first i got a TAN my company updated it to TIN but with the same number. Inquire at the nearest BIR office .
